Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Diploma from a disability, health-related, or social sciences field (commensurate combinations of education and work experience equivalencies will be considered). Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English. 2-4 years of community experience with targeted population is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid (FA) Certification is required prior to/upon commencement.

Preferred Qualifications:

A degree in a disability, health related, or social sciences field (equivalencies considered). Training in non-violent crisis intervention & psychosocial rehabilitation is desirable. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities & a co-occurring mental illness and/or behavioral concerns is an asset. Experience working night shift in a community group home is preferred – applicable to night position only. HCA certificate preferred. May require HCA registration on hire.
