Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Nursing with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Nursing (with training & experience in mental health assessment & provision of psychotherapy). Registered and in good standing with applicable professional college (College of Alberta Psychologists, Alberta College of Social Work, College of Registered Nurses of Alberta). Minimum 10 years post-degree experience in assessment and treatment of mental/behavioural health disorders, preferably in mental health settings. At least 1 year experience in community-based primary care working with family physicians. Experience in shared/collaborative mental health care providing assessment, treatment, education, research, evaluation, and clinical leadership. Training in evidence-based interventions and change theory. Ability to build collaborative relationships, coach/consult, and support capacity building for physicians using adult learning principles. Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal, communication, documentation, and computer skills. Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle; travel required within Calgary and area.
Preferred Qualifications:Superior knowledge of the mental health system, services and resources and ability to facilitate referrals of primary care provider’s patients. Knowledge of DSM-V and medications used in the treatment of mental health conditions. Self-directed, innovative, flexible and capable of working both autonomously and in collaboration with health professionals.
