Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Minimum of 5 years expreince in the last 10 years in Addiction and Mental Health experience in acute care or community. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) trainer and other related training capabilities related to addiction and mental and physical health care. Experience in various risk assessment and delivery of related training i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk. Experience and knowledge of the AB Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Order Legislation, Health Information Act, Personal Directives Act, Alberta Guardianship and Trusteeship Act, Advanced Directives and other relevant legislation. Understanding of the DSM-5 with demonstrated knowledge of mental health diagnosis, symptomatology and therapeutic treatment modalities/interventions.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in nursing and/or Master of Nursing. Experience in a leadership or educational role in the advancement of nursing and/or multidisciplinary practice. Familiarity of Harm Reduction Principles, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Patient and Family Centered Care, Recovery Oriented practice, and an ability to engage with difficult to serve populations.
