REC00002484 Requisition #

Your Opportunity:

An Instructor in Correctional Health Services plays a pivotal role in advancing safe, evidence‑informed, and compassionate nursing practice within a uniquely complex care environment. This role offers the opportunity to support and develop nurses working with populations who experience significant health inequities, high rates of chronic disease, mental illness, and substance use. As an Instructor, you will lead orientation, ongoing clinical education, competency development, and practice support, while fostering trauma‑informed, culturally safe, and recovery‑oriented care. Working closely with interdisciplinary partners and stakeholders, you will help bridge best practice with real‑world clinical challenges, influence quality improvement, and contribute meaningfully to both staff confidence and patient outcomes within Correctional Health.

Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.
