The Red Deer Protective Safe House is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our multidisciplinary team at PChAD, a youth detox and treatment facility. As an LPN, you will be responsible for delivering safe, trauma-directed nursing care to youth in detox and early recovery. This includes monitoring physical and mental health, administering medications, and supporting recovery goals. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a respectful, culturally safe environment that promotes healing and dignity. Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and Recovery Alberta policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to respond appropriately to situations requiring physical intervention. Physical capabilities required include lifting, bending, and participating in activity with the youth. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience working with youth and families, preferably in mental health or addictions settings.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with addictions care and/or completion of specialized addiction training is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills, along with training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Trauma-Informed Care principles.
