The Addiction Recovery Centre (ARC) is a voluntary medical detoxification program that supports a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing withdrawal from alcohol and other substances. Looking for experienced, caring, strength-based nursing staff to join our multidisciplinary team. This position, working to full scope, will be responsible for completing the medical assessments on those presenting to our door seeking services, triaging the admissions, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, and adjusting the treatment as clinically indicated. You will be actively involved with the day-to-day medical/physical/educational needs of our clients providing client-centered, trauma informed, concurrent capable approach to ensure emotional and psychological support is provided. This position requires flexibility and responsiveness to an acute environment. Strong clinical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a diverse range of clients, their families, professionals and the public are a must.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and Recovery Alberta policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).Working Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act and must maintain active registration. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of LPN experience, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience treating individuals experiencing addiction (substance and/or process). Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Working as LPN is an asset. Working to full scope as an LPN which include starting of IV and phlebotomy.
