As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and Recovery Alberta policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health related resources across the North Zone required. Demonstrated leadership, organizational and clinical skills in addition to being self-directed and able to work collaboratively in a team environment required. Computer proficiency required. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques required. Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience in an acute in-patient psychiatric setting required Working Knowledge of Psychotropic medications required Experience in administering the Mental Status examination Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk. Knowledge of the addiction and mental health continuum of care.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. IV Certification preferred. Working Knowledge or experience about the various therapeutic modalities i.e. CBT, DBT, Supportive therapy, Motivational interview Knowledge/Understanding of DSM-IV and 5 preferred.
