Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current and/or recent experience in an adult medical detox setting. If new graduate, must have had preceptorship in relevant Adult Medical Detox Centre. Direct LPN experience in a triage setting. Knowledge and experience in de-escalating potentially volatile and violent situations.
Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of harm reduction strategies and training in Opioid Agonist Therapy. Completion of Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Brief Solution-Focused Therapy training. Previous experience facilitating/co-facilitating groups. Ability to complete behavioral risk assessments, withdrawal assessments. Client Centered and Trauma informed philosophy of care.
