Come join an exceptional and dynamic team in the South Mental Health and Addiction portfolio. The Manager of Rural Clinics is a key leadership role and reports to the Director, Rural and Remote. This position is responsible for providing direction, leadership and organization to a multidisciplinary team of staff supporting client and family focused care in the rural communities of the Southwest corridor of the province.

Description:

The Manager works in close partnership with the Director, while being responsible and accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable client and family-focused care. The Manager is accountable for the overall operational leadership for the program while fostering a culture of quality improvement and collaborative care. Supporting staff, facilitating change management and ensuring the effective deployment of resources through budget management/variance reporting are key responsibilities. This leader contributes to the development and implementation of the Provincial Mental Health and Addiction rural and remote operational plan while collaborating with physicians, other RA and PHA services, and other stakeholders to deliver a seamless continuum of mental health and addiction care. Awareness of concurrent capable care and supporting the delivery of addiction prevention, mental health promotion and community capacity building programs are important elements of this position.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, occupational therapy or other related health profession. Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession if eligible. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. A minimum of five years of work experience delivering Mental Health and Addiction services, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity with progressive leadership roles in a healthcare environment is necessary (equivalencies may be considered).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex unionized environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long-term quality services. An ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The candidate will possess a strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master level degree or higher is preferred. Formal training in health administration; or leadership an asset. Experience working in mental health promotion and addictions prevention work an asset. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training. Incident Command System training/experience preferred.
