Your Opportunity:

The Mental Health Aide - Consumer Support Worker (CSW) will work directly with clients in the Addiction & Mental Health clinic in Wainwright which supports a large geographic surrounding area, liaising with supporting agencies/organizations, and with clients both in and outside their homes. Under the guidance and direction of the Community Treatment Order Coordinator and/or Assertive Outreach Clinician and/or therapist, the CSW will provide supports and assistance to promote higher functioning, including social, physical, and emotional well-being, while fostering self-determination and independence. In collaboration with the client, you will assist in the development and implementation of an individual service/treatment/care plan, and respecting confidentiality will collaborate with significant others and involved professionals. You, as the CSW, will report changes in client’s condition and relay client’s involvement during activities and care to the responsible Community Treatment Order Coordinator and/or Assertive Outreach Clinician, and document this information on the client’s electronic health record. You will work co-operatively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals by regularly attending and contributing to staff and team meetings, participating in treatment team case conferences and in treatment team decisions/activities; and developing and maintaining collaborative relationships.

Description:

As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.

Required Qualifications:

Experience with delivering care in a rural community setting, knowledge of local geography an asset, and experience working with Connect Care is considered an asset as well.
