Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years’ experience providing mental health assessment, treatment, consultation, discharge planning and crisis stabilization in an adult acute psychiatric setting within the last 5 years. Formal training and a minimum 2 years’ experience facilitating or co-facilitating individual and group therapy using a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities to adults within Addiction and Mental Health in the last 5 years. Knowledge of adult mental health resources with Calgary Zone.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree. Training and experience using the following therapeutic modalities: CBT, DBT, CBSST. Theoretical training and application of family interventions. Theoretical knowledge or experience with Trauma Informed Care Demonstrated professional development and/or participation in quality improvement initiatives.
