Expand Your Impact Beyond the Clinic Walls. Recovery Alberta is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Fort McMurray. We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate professional who is passionate about supporting individuals and families and committed to delivering high-quality, client-centered care. You’ll work with clients of all ages in both individual and group settings, using a variety of evidence-informed treatment approaches, including individual, family, and group therapy. As a valued member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide psychosocial interventions, crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You'll have the opportunity to work independently and alongside experienced colleagues who share a commitment to excellence in Mental Health and Addiction services. This unique position offers the opportunity to travel and connect with diverse rural communities, expanding your impact beyond a traditional clinical setting. You'll enjoy the variety, autonomy, and relationship-building that come with community-based practice, with a Recovery Alberta vehicle provided for all work-related travel. The role also offers variety, including evening work as required, with eligible evening hours attracting shift differential premiums.This position may be eligible for relocation assistance and housing support, pending availability and approval and may qualify for a recruitment incentive of up to $60,000, based on the length of Return for Service. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A valid Class V driver’s license and willingness to travel to rural communities. Availability to work evenings as required. Restricted Psychosocial Interventions (RAPI).
