Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years current clinical experience using a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health disorders. Training and worked experience in mental health assessment, crisis management, provision of psychotherapy and counselling skills. Solid knowledge foundation of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and ability to formulate an accurate provisional diagnosis. Ability to communicate clinical formulation effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience developing and facilitating therapeutic and psychoeducational groups required. Knowledge of AMH philosophies and initiatives – Recovery Model, Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction, LOCUS, Collaborative Problem Solving, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Legislation and Community Treatment Orders and other governing standards/legislation for practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to set priorities and organize time effectively in stressful, demanding and changing conditions. Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies. Experience with MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Connect Care.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within an Addiction Recovery program. Addiction and Mental Health case management experience. Experience working in community mental health outreach. Experience facilitating staff education and training related to addiction and mental health services.
