Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:This position will require the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and the flexibility to adjust to the demands of ongoing program development. The Mental Health Liaison works as a collaborative support service to provide mental health, addiction and risk assessments to the adults and youth referred. The Mental Health Liaison will be required to liaise with other staff in the hospital as well as have significant knowledge with both facility and community resources in order to effectively assess and refer clients appropriately. Knowledge of the Alberta Mental Health Act is essential. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection required. Liaise with community partners and other related duties as required. Membership in professional association/college as per The Health Professions Act. Social Worker must be authorized to do psychosocial interventions. Cultural competency in trauma traditions and healing practices that support addiction and mental health prevention, recovery and health promotion. Mental Health assessment and crisis response, addiction counseling and brief therapy. 5 years' community experience in mental health/addictions.
Preferred Qualifications:Therapy experience with therapy modality training.
