The Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic provides low‑barrier, same‑day support for individuals seeking help with substance‑related concerns. We offer patient‑centered, evidence‑based, and recovery‑oriented care that helps people stabilize, connect with services, and move toward their wellness goals. Reporting to the Care Manager, RAAM Clinic, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide short‑term medical management, assessment, and follow‑up care in a welcoming outpatient environment. This role works closely with the Emergency Department and the ACARP teams to ensure timely access and smooth transitions for patients who require ongoing support. Your Role: Complete comprehensive assessments related to substance use, withdrawal, stabilization, and overall health. Provide medical management including opioid agonist treatment (OAT), withdrawal support, medication initiation, and ongoing monitoring. Offer preventative health care, brief follow‑ups, and individualized recovery‑oriented care plans. Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team. Support transitions from the Emergency Department and ACARP into the RAAM clinic. Help patients connect to primary care, mental health services, community programs, and social support. Contribute to a compassionate environment grounded in dignity, respect, and patient empowerment. Who you are: You are an NP with strong clinical knowledge or vested interest in addiction medicine. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) as a Nurse Practitioner (Family/All ages or adult category). Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a front line clinical setting. Clinical experience or additional training in addiction/mental health/inner city health and/or vulnerable populations. Why join RAAM?
