Nurse Practitioner
Your Opportunity:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with the Opioid Dependency Program, you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals living with opioid use disorder. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. You will be responsible for safe and effective treatment of opioid use disorder through medication and other interventions. You will have access to a team of addiction medicine experts to assist you in your knowledge base as an independent practitioner.

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience and/or education in Opioid Agonist Therapy. Experience working with individuals living with substance use disorder, including unhoused individuals.
