Occupational Therapist I
Your Opportunity:
The Occupational Therapist I (OT) works within the Young Adult Services (YAS) Recovery Supports team. YAS Recovery Supports team provides recovery-oriented, developmentally appropriate services for young adults aged 16–25 who experience addiction and/or mental health challenges. The program functions as a lead service provider for clients requiring Level of Care Utilization System (LOCUS) levels 1 and 2 (recovery maintenance and low-intensity community-based services), and as a complementary care provider for clients receiving services at LOCUS levels 3, 4, and 5, in partnership with other primary or intensive services. As the OT on the YAS Recovery Supports team, you will work collaboratively with Recreation Therapists and Rehabilitation Practitioners to deliver individualized services that enhance occupational engagement and promote skill development. Clients are supported in working toward goals related to community life functioning, personal effectiveness & wellbeing, living situation, education, and employment. The OT manages a caseload of clients. Services are tailored based on each clients goals, preferences, and needs. Interventions are delivered on both an individual basis as well as group offerings. The OT brings a recovery-oriented, holistic perspective to assessment, intervention, and group facilitation, with a focus on enhancing functioning across multiple life domains. This includes providing outreach, community-based sessions to address barriers to participation, and supporting clients in developing independence, self-regulation, and meaningful engagement in their chosen roles.
