Additional Required Qualifications:Lived experience in recovery from an addiction and/or mental illness. Must be willing to share personal experience. Experience working with vulnerable populations. Knowledge of social issues such as poverty, unemployment, stigma, medications and the isolation felt by individuals with serious mental health and addiction issues and their families. Involvement with local/emerging community of practice and with national peer support organizations is strongly encouraged. Skilled in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention. Understanding of cultural safety and indigenous health perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of addiction and recovery principles, harm reduction and trauma informed care. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Skills Training. Recovery Coach training.
