Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Strong mental health assessment, care planning, crisis intervention, de-escalation and risk assessment skills required. Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care and substance use is essential. Must demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, therapeutic relationships, prioritization, adaptability and ability to work in a high-acuity environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years acute mental health nursing experience preferred; adult inpatient psychiatry experience an asset.
