Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

One year AMH experience within the last 3 years with an FTE. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an AMH site may be considered. You will collaborate with services & organize referrals to community services or admission to inpatient units based on client need. You will assess and develop, in collaboration with the patient, an effective plan using the AMH continuum to identify appropriate services for clients & arrange care. You will provide brief interventions to clients & will identify, initiate, & modify interventions based on changing needs of patients as appropriate.

Experience in child and adolescents’ mental health preferred. Certification in NVCI preferred. Nursing experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health related resources across the Calgary Zone preferred. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques preferred. Knowledge of how to intervene is an asset. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act preferred. Experience in various risk assessments i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk an asset.
