Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 3 - 5 years of nursing experience in an outpatient, addiction and/or mental health clinic. 1 – 2 years of experience working as a Transition/Staff Nurse in an adult mental health clinic. Experience working with Emerging Adults 16-24 years old in Addictions/ Mental Health settings. Familiarity with the DSM system of mental health disorder classification. Intermediate knowledge and skills in the following counselling modalities: CBT, CBSST, and DBT (skills) are an asset. Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage the demands of a busy clinic through demonstrated caseload management skills, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to work independently. Familiarity with the Recovery Framework. Experience with Connect Care.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience delivering care virtually preferred. Trauma intensive training preferred. Level 1&2 training in CPS preferred. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community partners preferred. Experience working in patient engagement and program development preferred. Brain Story Certified preferred. Must have a calm, warm and engaging style. Ability to work independently and meet necessary deadlines. Experience in program planning, evaluation and/or research preferred.
