As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Center, you will deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care in a dynamic and challenging environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct holistic psychiatric and medical nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans. Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions, and crisis management. Respond to urgent and emergent health situations within the secure facility. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care. Maintain clear, timely, and accurate documentation in alignment with Connect Care and organizational policies. Support patient wellness through therapeutic communication, stabilization strategies, and ongoing monitoring. As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.
