Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Full Registration with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta. Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience with mental health assessment. Knowledge and experience treating individuals experiencing addiction (substance and/or process). Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain respectful, long-term relationships with First Nations, Métis, or Inuit communities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset.
