Your Opportunity:

The Analyst works under the supervision of the Decision Support Services (DSS) Team Lead to provide evaluation and analytical services to project sponsors and partners across Recovery Alberta. The Analyst is responsible for engaging clients to understand their evaluation and analytic needs, scoping projects accurately, and delivering actionable insights through data analysis and service evaluations. The Analyst develops, organizes, and conducts evaluations by setting goals and objectives as well as defining and actioning multiple concurrent projects. The major responsibilities of this position include working with large relational health-care datasets that are sourced through extracting data from Connect Care or abstract databases such as DAD and NACRS. The Analyst will scope data requests, access the necessary data, clean the data, analyze the data, and present data through reports and visualizations (e.g., Tableau dashboards). The Analyst must be adept at using programming languages (e.g., SQL) to query, manage, and transform data from warehouses such as Snowflake. Additionally, the Analyst position requires strong client relationship management skills, including confirming and refining project requirements, presenting findings, and working collaboratively to develop recommendations based on data insights. The candidate will ensure deliverables are in formats that meet client expectations for ease of use and interpretation, maintain open communication on project progress, and adhere to agreed timelines and specifications.

Description:

As a Research I, you will be working with research teams which are generating and disseminating new knowledge that assists with advancing the understanding of health disciplines and various health and medical concerns. Working under the guidance of the principal investigator, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting research documents, collecting and reviewing a variety of information related to the study, and monitoring study compliance. You will also assist with the recruitment of study participants and initiate consenting of study and/or trial participants and may complete lab work to support research activities.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in a health or science related field. Registration with applicable professional association or college where required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in a setting (e.g., research) that required working with large relational datasets. Minimum of 4 years working with programming languages such as SQL. Minimum of 4 years working with data visualization software. Experience in program evaluation and/or performance measurement. Experience in report preparation and oral presentation. Excellent time management skills and the ability to be flexible to respond to changing priorities. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Positive interpersonal skills. Critical thinking skills in the coordination and implementation of projects. Ability to work both independently and in collaborative settings. Ability to receive direction and to work collaboratively within a team setting and in partnership with external partners. Ability to manage multiple activities at once to accomplish results. Ability to effectively explore alternatives to make appropriate decisions. Ability to convey information in a way that is acceptable to all partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an addiction and mental health care setting. Experience with data from electronic medical records. Experiencing working with Epic Systems Software (e.g., Connect Care).
