Enhancing community care options for Albertans continues to be a key priority for Recovery Alberta. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Mental Health and Addiction services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Assertive Outreach clients and their families. To support this goal, Recovery Alberta has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker II candidate with the North Zone Assertive Outreach Services (AOS) Team. Recovery Alberta co-ordinates, plans, delivers and evaluates a province-wide network of programs and contracted services. We work with a common purpose: to promote understanding and compassion, to encourage healthy behavior and attitudes, and to help all Albertans achieve well-being throughout their lives. This position serves clients in Area 4 (Edson, Whitecourt, Jasper, Hinton and surrounding areas) through a Recovery Oriented Psychosocial Rehabilitative framework. The location of this role is Edson. This role provides the opportunity to be creative in the development of current and new programming and services to support the mental health needs of AOS clients. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provide a range of social work supports to AOS clients who have a severe and persistent mental illness, and their families. Your services may include psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, as well as transition or discharge planning. This position also involves consultation and collaboration with interprofessional team members and outside agencies involved in the client’s recovery plan. Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Education or training in mental health is an asset. Recent experience working in the community with clients with a severe and persistent mental illness and/or who have complex needs is an asset. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft 365 is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Use of Microsoft 365 tools, First Aide, BLS. Experience in health care or settings with transferable experiences. Knowledge and experience working with diverse and marginalized populations using an inclusive lens of equity & diversity, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation. Knowledge and application of trauma-informed care and harm reduction. Understanding of the impact of severe mental illness and stigma. Authorization to perform restricted activity of psychosocial intervention (ACSW).
