Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lethbridge Opioid Dependency Clinic as a Temporary Full-Time Social Worker II, supporting individuals experiencing opioid use disorder within a recovery-oriented model of care. Aligned with Recovery Alberta, this role provides client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally safe services that promote recovery, stability, and improved quality of life. The Social Worker II supports clients across the continuum of care through psychosocial assessment, case management, harm reduction, and connection to community resources. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker collaborates with physicians, nurses, addiction counselors, and community partners to address complex social determinants of health, including housing, mental health, and income supports. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in addressing the opioid crisis, support individuals in building sustainable recovery pathways, and contribute to a collaborative, team-based environment focused on evidence-informed practice, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum one (1) year experience in an Addiction and Mental Health setting, with demonstrated application of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm reduction approaches.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within an Opioid Dependency Clinic or providing Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) supports. Experience using Connect Care (Epic) or similar electronic health record systems in an Addiction and Mental Health setting.
