Unit Manager

Your Opportunity:

The Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury is a stand-alone Psychiatric facility located in Ponoka. As the Unit Manager within the Tertiary and Rehabilitation Services Program, you will be providing service to the Complex Care population, encompassing 25 beds on Cascade. Care and treatment are provided for those individuals experiencing a severe and persistent mental illness to support recovery. You will be working withing a client centered treatment approach, with a recovery model philosophy. You will also ensure effective operation of the unit assuming responsibilities that contribute to the learning experience of students, staff and patients. Reporting directly to the Provincial Director for Tertiary and Rehabilitation Services, you will be accountable for the quality of all aspects of patient care. This position is on the management out of scope structure at the M2-2 level.

Description:

Your responsibilities will include maintaining standards of the program and ensuring consistency in the delivery of care and accessibility of service. You will be responsible for recruiting and selecting staff to meet operation needs, managing staff performance and participating in quality management initiatives. You will have strong clinical leadership, management and organizational skills, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to facilitate change, promote excellence in interpersonal and interdisciplinary team skills, and demonstrate a high level of initiative and creative problem-solving abilities. You will have demonstrated fiscal management ability, will be committed to continuous quality improvement and you will build collaborative relationships with other service providers.
