Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:At least 4 years of adult mental health nursing experience and at least 1 year of geriatric mental health nursing experience within the past 5 years. At least 1 year of outreach nursing experience within the last 5 years. Experience with diverse mental health problems common to the older adult population. Knowledge of the Continuum of Care of Mental Health & Addiction services. Knowledge of Mental Health Legislation especially related to CTO's. Knowledge of and ability to provide Mental Health Recovery Focused Care. Experience in conducting psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and medication management. Experience working in partnership with non-RA and non-profit community agencies. Self-motivated with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated responsible decision-making through the application of knowledge, critical thinking and sound legal and ethical judgment. Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in demanding and dynamic conditions. Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills. Excellent Connect Care skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Mental Health case management experience. Experience in mental health nursing and medication administration with the older adult population is an asset. Experience in an outreach position. Demonstrated ability to administer IM injection medications. Nursing leadership experience is an asset.
